Subsites

Subsites allow you to create multiple site in addition to your main site you.phanfare.com, such as you.phanfare.com/soccerteam you.phanfare.com/client1, or you.phanfare.com/coworkers, etc. Each of these subsites can have its own optional password and can contain any subset of your phanfare albums.

Subsites can only be created from the Phanfare web interface at www.phanfare.com. The Phanfare PC and Mac clients have links back to the web for subsite management.

Creating Subsite

To create subsite:

1. Sign into Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
2. Click “Edit Albums” under quick tasks at upper left
3. Click “Edit Subsites”
4. Fill in the custom URL field. You can input anything you like, as long as it only contains letters and numbers, and does not start with a number.
5. Fill in the Guest Password box, if you wish to password this subsite
6. Click Save.

Publish Albums To Subsite

To publish multiple albums to a particular subsite:

1. Sign into Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
2. Click “Edit Albums” under quick tasks at upper left
3. Select the albums you wish to publish to a particular site
4. Click “Publish Album(s)” on the bottom right of page
5. Select the subsite you wish to publish the album to.

• NOTE: You can filter the list of albums displayed using the Show drop-down on the upper-right side of the page.

To publish a single album to a particular subsite:

1. Sign into Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
2. Click “Edit Albums” under quick tasks at upper left
3. Click the album
4. Click Album options
5. Select the subsite you wish to publish the album to.

Note that the album property dialogs on both the PC and Mac clients also allow you to publish albums to a subsite.

Unpublish Albums To Subsite

To unpublish multiple albums from a particular subsite:

1. Sign into Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
2. Select the albums you wish to unpublish to a particular site
3. Click “Unpublish Album(s)” on the bottom right of page
4. Select the subsites from which you want to remove the albums.

To unpublish a single album from a subsite, you can also use the album properties dialog on the web, the PC client or the Mac client.

Global View of Published Albums To Subsite

To view all the albums shared with a particular subsite:

1. Sign into Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
2. Click “Edit Albums” under quick tasks at upper left
3. Select the subsite you wish to view from the “Show” drop-down menu on the top right of page.

Sharing subsites via Phanfare's email tools

Phanfare's email tools are all subsite aware. If you share a link to an album, you will be given the option of also allowing access to either your main site or a Phanfare subsite that contains the album.

An example: If you have an album called "Baseball championship" and that albums appears both on your main site at you.phanfare.com and on your subsite, you.phanfare.com/baseball, then you can invite people to see the album in one of 3 ways:

• an isolated link that shows only that album
• an invitation to your main site at you.phanfare.com
• an invitation to your subsite at you.phanfare.com/baseball

These three options are shown on the bottom left of the sharing invitation during composition.
