Phanfare Mac Client 5.2.2 (July 20th, 2011)

  • New Features
    • Drag and drop upload. Drag and drop photos and videos from your desktop into the Library on the web and they will automatically start uploading. Supported in Firefox 4.0+, Chrome 10+, and Safari 5.0.5+

  • Changes
    • Properties panel is tabbed. This allows you to change the properties of items higher in the hierarchy without having to change the selected item. For example, you can edit the album or section properties of the selected image.
    • Quickly edit the name/description of albums, sections, and sites by clicking on the name in the center view.
    • Hidden photos/videos have a red border in the editor view and quick look.
    • Creating a new album, section, and site allows you to optionally choose the name before it is created.
    • When viewing an album on an Android device there is a button to play the slideshow.

Phanfare 4.6 (September 28th, 2010)

  • New Features
    • My Computer and Java uploaders both support duplicate detection on upload. A duplicate is a photo/video in the same album with the same filename.
    • Improved the music dialog in the Library. The music clips can now be sorted by title/album/artist and filtered by search.
  • Changes
    • You can select a default credit card to be used for your subscription. Previously the newest credit card was used.
    • My Computer uploader can recover from temporary loss of internet connection.
    • Web music uploader supports alternative iTunes volume locations.
    • Faster credit card processing for merchandise purchases.
    • Image link and video link buttons now contain all of the image sizes Phanfare has available.
    • The delete confirmation on the web contains the album/section/subsite name being deleted.
    • On the web you will receive a notice if an album changes years because of auto-dating.
    • Changing your primary email address no longer requires a confirmation email. A warning of the change is sent to the old address.
    • You can no longer add a secondary email addresses to an account. This was no longer necessary with the removal of social networking features.
    • Removed publish button from action bar. There are still two ways to publish, the publish button at the top of the View Area and in the Album Properties on the right.
    • MP3s added to your library can be previewed even before they are converted for web playback.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Fixed prints being lost from shopping cart when signing into a Phanfare account after visiting a password protected site.
    • When ordering prints the photos will be displayed, and arrive in, the same order as they were in the album.
    • Fixed case in some older videos where the video player would show the loading graphic when it was really finished with the video.
    • Fixed 'My Computer' uploader not detecting JPG extension on Linux.
    • Removed 3 hour timeout when downloading slideshows.
    • Stopped music uploader from showing mixed code warning on every load
    • Fixed site descriptions from not collapsing correctly in Chrome.
    • Membership order confirmations show any credits that were used.

Phanfare 4.1 (June 17, 2010)

Phanfare Service 2.8.1 (September 19, 2008)

  • The service will remember the email addresses of non-Phanfare members with whom you share albums using the Share this Album feature, so that you don't need to retype the address the next time you want to share an album with them.
  • Visitors to your albums can share an external link to that album with others. This feature is turned off for existing customers and turned on for new customers but the setting can be changed in Shared Album Preferences (http://www.phanfare.com/prefpres.aspx).
  • Multiple Facebook users can have the Phanfare Facebook Application (http://www.phanfare.com/apps.aspx#Facebook) point to a single Phanfare account. This lets a husband and wife have news of and links to new albums in their shared Phanfare account published to their Facebook news feeds, for example.
  • The Messages section of the dashboard (http://www.phanfare.com/home/) is now called the News section.
  • The News feed on your dashboard (http://www.phanfare.com/home/) can now display the information Phanfare is publishing about you to your friends, family, and fellow group members.
  • Viewer Reports (http://www.phanfare.com/reporting/visitor_report.aspx) are now always accessible from the ribbon at the top of all Phanfare web pages, in addition to being available from the News feed (if you've have recent visits) and the Friends and Family page (http://www.phanfare.com/connections/manage.aspx).
  • Improvements to the service designed to boost upload speed

Phanfare Service 2.4.2 (May 14, 2008) Enhancement to the web interface for managing your photos and videos:

  • Music upload/import from itunes. From the album option menu you can upload an mp3 or import from itunes using a java applet. Only thing missing is music preview.
  • Style picker. If you click on "change style", you will see the full list of album styles.
  • Reorder sections. If an album has multiple sections, you can change the order of the sections.
  • Move images. If you select images and click on "extras" you will see the option to move images to another album. (This is a cut and paste, not copy and paste.)
  • Image detail. From image detail, you can view and edit captions. Plus, clicking on info includes a link to get external links for individual photos and videos.
  • Clicking "preview slideshow" will play the slideshow and leave you on the album page when it is over.
  • From any album, you can click on "show all albums" to see a view of all of your albums.
  • Drag and drop. You can drag and drop images directly onto the java uploader, including from iphoto and picasa.

Other features in this release:

  • Friend Finder. There is now a place on your Phanfare home page that shows you connections of your connections that you might want to connect with. From the "see more" link you will also have the opportunity to search your email address book for contacts that are already on Phanfare.
  • Inviting friends/family to a group. There is now a link that allows you to choose existing friends/family to invite to a group without having to re-enter their email addresses.
  • Visitors by day. This report now shows you the names of the visitors who came on each day.
  • Slideshow changes. Added the names to appear under the buttons in the slideshow controls. Fixed a bug where videos were playing only in smallest rendition in many instances.
  • New privacy setting. If you don't want visitors to your shared albums or even friends of friends to be able to ask you to connect, you can choose to only allow connection requests from people who know your email address.
