Setting your General Email Preferences

To manage your email preferences

  1. Login to Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Click the "Email preferences" link under Personal Information
  4. Here is where you can choose to opt out of receiving an email to let you know someone commented on one of your albums or opt out of future Phanfare informational emails, such as our newsletter.

Setting Privacy Options for Social Networking Use

If you set up your Phanfare account to have a short URL with our without a password and give people that URL or share via our invite tools, the following information does not apply to you. It applies only to customers using Phanfare's optional registration-based social networking sharing method.

For those using the registration-based sharing: When you connect with someone as a friend, family or group member, your name is then listed on their profile. Your email address is not listed. You have have the option to choose whether your hometown or photo (if you've put them in your profile) are included as well in the listing.

To set these options:

  1. Login to Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/login.aspx)
  2. Click Settings on the header
  3. Click "Manage Privacy Settings" under Phanfare Friends and Family header

Now, when you publish an album and go into album options and share with friends and family that you are connected to, an automatic content notification goes out overnight about the new album (adding sections or images to an existing album don't generate these). If you want to turn off automatic content notifications, uncheck the top box on the right side of the page referenced above. In addition, if you don't want adding images to a new album to generate a post to connections news feeds when they login to www.phanfare.com, uncheck the second box under News as well.

You can also opt not to have news items related to you connecting to other friends, family, or groups appear in the Messages area of the Phanfare home page for those you are connected to. For example, you connect to Aunt Mary as family. Later, you connect to Aunt Sue. By default, if Aunt Mary looked at the messages area of her Phanfare home page news feed, she would see that you and Aunt Sue are now connected as family, too. If you want to turn this off, go to link above and uncheck the bottom two boxes under the News heading.

Setting Email Options for Social Networking Use

You can opt-out of emails

  • Content Notifications from your Friends/Family/Groups: You would receive these when people you are already connected to add new photos or videos to their albums.
  • User messages: an email to let you know that someone has connected to you as friend or family.

Note, that if you turn off status updates and content notifications, you are turning them off globally and not for any specific person. If you want to stop receiving invitations or content notifications from a specific person but want to continue to receive them from others, you will need to remove your connection to the person.

Even if you opt out of all emails, Phanfare may still need to send you email regarding the specific status of your account or a merchandise order.
