Importing from Other Services

Importing Images

You can currently import your content from the following services:

• Picasa: Limited to 1600 pixels width so good for printing up to 11x14. No video (limitation of Picasa's API).
• Smugmug: No limit on width
• Shutterfly: 600 pixel maximum width. Fine for viewing but not for printing.
• Kodak: No limit on width
• Snapfish: 479 pixel maximum width. Fine for viewing but not for printing

If you want to import fullsize hi-resolution images from services that limit us on the automatic import, you will need to contact them to determine how to export or order archive dvds of your originals.

Using the web-browser client

• Go to http://www.phanfare.com and sign in if requested.
• Click on "Apps and Extras" on the right side of your homepage
• Click on the appropriate link under Other Imports.
• Click on "Import" button
• From the drop-down menu select the service you wish to import from and enter your login credentials for that service, then click Next
• Select all the albums you wish to import to Phanfare and then click Continue. On the next screen, set your album sharing privileges for the albums being imported.
  
  

Exporting Images from Phanfare to other Services

You can download or export any image or album you have uploaded to Phanfare at no charge. We do not offer an automated way to transfer your images from Phanfare to another service. We previously offered a way for viewers of your albums to transfer pictures to Smugmug, Shutterfly, or Snapfish but the interface was unreliable and not officially supported by the vendors so we had to eliminate it. If you or your viewers want to order from a service other than Phanfare, please click download image next to the photo(s) you wish to order and save them locally. You can then go directly to your vendor's website and upload them.
