Phanfare provides dozens of pre-defined styles for your site and albums. In addition, you can create you own styles to give your site and albums a unique look. This includes picking colors for all the elements on the page and/or uploading a custom background. You can also upload a custom footer and/or header.

Create a custom style with the color picker

1. In the web client, select "Edit Albums (http://www.phanfare.com/album/)"
2. Click change site style.
3. Select any existing style.
4. Click the "Create Custom Style" button at the bottom of the Style Picker dialog.
5. Give your style a name you will remember as this is how you will find the style later in the style picker.
6. Click on each element's Color box and assign a color using the visual color picker or by entering RGB, HSV, or Hex values.
7. Click Save.

Add a custom background to a style

If you want to use a custom background in your style, we strongly recommend using one that is meant to be tiled across a page. If you have the background already uploaded to your site and you have the URL, you can just enter the URL in the Background Image URL box when you create or edit any custom style.

If you only have the file, you will need to upload it to Phanfare to get the needed URL:

1. Upload the background file to a new or existing album on Phanfare
2. Using the web client, go into the edit album mode and doubleclick the thumbnail for that background.
3. Click info
4. Click external link
5. Copy the full-size URL
6. Click close until back in album edit mode
7. Click style.
8. Select the custom style you want to add the background to or click "Create Custom Style" button at the bottom of the Style Picker dialog.
9. In the Background Image URL box paste in the URL for that background image you just uploaded.
10. Adjust any other colors for elements as needed.
11. Click Save.
    
    

Note that the background applies only to the page background (below bar) as shown on the elements chart below.

Delete a custom style

1. In the web client, select "Edit Albums (http://www.phanfare.com/album/)"
2. Click change site style.
3. Select the style you want to delete.
4. Click delete style.
