Create on your home page
To create an album using your online Phanfare home page:
- Go to Your Phanfare home page (http://www.phanfare.com).
- Click the green create album button.
- On the album properties page, give the album a title (i.e. "Our Trip to the Zoo") and description.
- Choose how you want your album to be dated: autodated, manually dated, or undated.
- Also designate who can view your albums. Your initial options will be family, friends or public. You can select individuals in each group to notify by clicking on "adjust notifications". Note that this does not affect who can view the album, that is managed at the family or friend level. It only allows you to select the friends or family members you would like to notify about events related to this album. You can also choose to share your album publicly, which will make it available from your home Phanfare URL. If you create groups at any time, you will have an option to share the album with them as well. If you do not choose to share the album with anyone, the album will be private and only viewable to you.
- Save your album properties.
- The next page will ask you to select the files that you want to add to this album. Hold down the control key to select multiple files and then hit open. [Note: You can not drag and drop from this dialog box].
- You will receive on-screen notification when your upload is complete and an invite to view the shared album or go back to your album on your Phanfare home page. Going back to your album gives you the opportunity to add captions, edit images, hide images, or edit your album properties.

Dividing Albums into Sections
Using the PC or Mac desktop application, you can divide any album up into sections if you choose. See Related Article: Album Sections
Album Limits
Each album can hold up to 500 photos and videos. If you want the album to hold more than that, you can use the desktop application or Phanfare home page to create album sections. There is no limit on the number of album sections you can create. Each album section is limited to 500 photos or videos and when using sections, each album is then limited to 3,000 photos or videos overall.
