Using the home page
Captioning
To caption all images and videos in the album at once:
- Go to Album properties by clicking on the album name under "All Albums"
- Click the "Edit Captions" button to caption all the items in the album at once. Use the Tab key to easily move to the next item
To caption specific items,
- Double-click on the specific image and add caption to the image. Click "close" to return to the album.
- You can also add a caption when editing an image or video
Captioned images appear with a green icon on the album properties page
You can caption any or all of the images in your account. Each caption can be a maximum of 2,000 characters long.
Editing
Phanfare provides the following editing tools:
- Rotate left: Rotates the image to the left 90 degrees
- Rotate right: Rotates the image to the right 90 degrees
- Auto levels: Setting autolevel is way of enhancing your photos by automatically adjusting the colors. Essentially, autoleveling makes the whites in your pictures whiter, the blacks blacker, and spreads out the colors in between more evenly.
- Revert to original: Undoes all of your changes
- Delete image: Permanently deletes the image
Picnik
Phanfare also provides additional image editing tools through an integration with the Picnik (http://www.picnik.com) online photo editing service.
- Fix images using auto-fix, exposure, colors, and red-eye.
- Other editing tools include rotate, crop, resize, and sharpening.
- The "Create" tab has custom-made effects, text tool, shapes, including seasonal shapes for holidays and events, and frames.
- Additional features such as, touch up tools and new Advanced Editing tools are also available.
To edit individual images using Picnik,
- Double-click on the specific image and then click on "edit in Picnik".
- Click "Save to Phanfare" located on top right corner to return to your album.
Using the PC Desktop Application
Captioning
- Right click on image - edit item
- right click on image and select item properties
- click on properties icon to caption individual item
- click on caption icon on the bottom to turbo caption entire album
To create autocaptions from EXIF/IPTC or file name:
- Settings - program options - importing - check box
You can caption any or all of the images in your account. Each caption can be a maximum of 2,000 characters long.

Using the Mac Application
Captioning
- Select the album you want to add captions to.
- Click "Caption" on the bottom right side of the window to open the turbo caption window.
- Caption the photos then click click "Apply" when you're finished.
To create autocaptions from EXIF/IPTC or file name:
- Click on Phanfare2 - Preferences - Importing.
- Select "Automatically caption images with" and click on the appropriate radio button.

- Click "Edit" at the bottom of the window.
