Adding music to a slideshow
From Doc
|
Phanfare offers several tracks of stock music customers can add to their slideshows. Using the Windows or Mac desktop application, customers can also upload MP3 (.mp3), Windows Media Audio (.wma), .AAC (m4a), MPEG-4 (.mp4) and Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) files into their account's music library and add these songs to their slideshows. You can also add music directly from your iTunes music library (not music purchased from the iTunes Music Store though, since that has DRM on it and is rights protected).
Currently, Phanfare lets you add one music track per slideshow. If an album has sections, you can choose a different music track to play during the slideshow for each section. There are several outside programs you can use to stitch several songs together into one file if you want to use multiple songs in a slideshow or slideshow section. Click here for instructions on combining songs into one file using Windows Movie Maker on the PC, which is a free program.
There are two ways to manage music in your Phanfare account. You can use the desktop application (http://www.phanfare.com/download.aspx) (available for Windows and Mac OS), or the Phanfare homepage (http://www.phanfare.com).
Adding songs to your music library
Windows application
To add a song to your music library, go to the Settings button on the top right of your application window and select Music Library. Then, click Add Music to navigate your hard drive to add tracks, or select Import from iTunes to bring in music from your iTunes music library.
Importing songs from your hard drive
Select Browse and locate the music file on your computer that you want to upload. Once selected, it will likely autopopulate the Artist, Album Name, and Title Fields. If not autopopulated or if you want to edit the information, you can type in these fields. Hit upload to complete the process.
Importing songs from iTunes
The iTunes Library Importer will display all of the non-copy-proteced (DRM'd) material in your iTunes music library. In other words, it won't include music purchased from the iTunes Music Store.
You can sort any of the columns to find tracks more quickly, or you can type a portion of the artist, album or track title in the search box and the importer will quickly jump to that selection. Click Upload selected to complete the process.
Mac application
To add a song to your music library, click on Window and select Slideshow Music Library. Then, click Add File to navigate your hard drive to add tracks, or select Import from iTunes to bring in music from your iTunes music library.
