Q: How do I know when my images and videos have finished uploading?
In the Phanfare web-browser based client (http://www.phanfare.com), you’ll see a status bar that gives you the remaining time in the upload. Once the status bar fills up, the upload is finished, and you’ll see an “Upload Complete message. In the desktop application, when you add an image or video to be uploaded, the “Online albums up to date message on the lower left changes to indicate whether you’re uploading the thumbnail-size images to the website or the full size images to our servers. When the upload is complete, the “Online albums up to date message will return.
Q: What does the gray dot on the thumbnail indicate?
A gray dot in the upper left corner of the thumbnail indicates that the full-size version of the image or the video has not been fully uploaded.
Q: Do I need to be connected to the Internet to upload and make changes to my account?
In order to use the Phanfare web-browser client (http://www.phanfare.com), you must be connected to the Internet. The Phanfare desktop application allows you to work offline and apply the changes you make once your connection is restored.
Q: Can I caption my photos using the name of the file?
Yes, there is a setting that will allow you to caption your images by filename. You can go to www.phanfare.com and login, click "settings" on the header, and then click "shared album settings" to find it.
