Adding images and videos

You can use your Phanfare home page to add images and videos up to 200MB in size to any existing Phanfare album. If your video is larger than 200MB, you will need to upload it via the desktop application. See our list of accepted file types and file sizes.
Using the Phanfare home page
- Go to your Phanfare home page (http://beta.phanfare.com)
- Click on the album name under "My Albums" or create a new album.
- Click on the "Add photos and videos" button
- Click on "Select files" and a file browse dialog box will appear.
- Navigate to the folder where your images and/or videos are located. You may select multiple files to upload by holding down the control (CTRL) key if using a PC or the Command key if using a Mac. To select all files in the folder, hit CTRL + A (or Command + A on a Mac).
- Click "Open"
- A status bar will appear with the progress of the upload.
- When the file has uploaded, you will see the message "Upload complete." Now you can add additional images or videos, return to the album properties page or view your online album. Note that the video will not be available for instant playback on your albums until we convert it to Flash.
Using the Windows desktop application
- Click on an existing album to select it or create a new album. There are three ways you can add images and videos:
- Click on the green "Add" icon at the bottom of the application.
- Click on the "Import" button at the top of the application and select "Files or Folder."
- Hit Ctrl + I.
- Use the Mass Importer tool.
- A file browse dialog box will appear. Navigate to the folder where your images and videos are located. You may select multiple files to upload by holding down the control (CTRL) key. To select all files in the folder, hit CTRL + A.
- Click "Open" OR drop and drag the selected images from the folder directly into the application.
- Once added, the bottom left of the application window will read "Updating online albums" then will switch to "(number of) full-size images and videos waiting."
- When upload is completed, you will see "Online albums up to date" with a green check. Note that a video will not be available for instant playback on your albums until we convert it to Flash.
Using the Mac desktop application
- Click on an existing album to select it or create a new album. There are four ways you can add images and videos:
- Click on the green "Add Photos and Videos" icon.
- Click on "File," then "Import Images and Videos."
- Hit Command + O.
- Drag images from iPhoto into the Phanfare application.
- A file browse dialog box will appear. Navigate to the folder where your images and videos are located. You may select multiple files to upload by holding down the Command key. To select all files in the folder, hit Command + A.
- Click "Open" OR drop and drag the selected images from the folder directly into the application.
- Once added, the bottom left of the application window will show the progress of the images being uploaded. Note that a video will not be available for instant playback on your albums until we convert it to Flash.
